How can I allow for multiple quiz attempts?

Updated on

By selecting "Allow Multiple Attempts", students are permitted to retake the quiz a specified number of times. Once this option is chosen, the choice to keep a range of quiz scores and the number of attempts is made available.

1. In the Quiz options, navigate to "Allow Multiple Attempts" section

  1. Allow Multiple Attempts - Allows the students to attempt the quiz multiple times, as defined by "Allowed Attempts". When this option is enabled, Canvas displays the Quiz Score to Keep and Allowed Attempts options.
  2. Quiz Score to Keep -  Choose whether to keep the highest score, latest score, or average score of all attempts. By default, Canvas will keep the highest score unless this setting is changed.
  3. Allowed Attempts - You can allow multiple attempts and limit the number of attempts. The default dashes represent unlimited attempts.
