Videos opened in Microsoft Clipchamp are stored as files in OneDrive or SharePoint. If you own a video or have permission to download it, you can download a copy to your computer.
This guide explains how to download an existing video using the Clipchamp video player or from OneDrive or SharePoint.
Note:
- You must own the video or have permission to download it. If you do not have the required permissions, the Download option will not be available.
- The download includes the video file only. Clipchamp content associated with the video, such as captions and transcripts, chapters, and comments, is not included in the downloaded file.

If you are accessing the video from the location where it is stored in OneDrive or SharePoint:
- Locate and select the video file in OneDrive or SharePoint.
- Select Download from the toolbar at the top of the page.
- Alternatively, select the More actions (...) menu next to the video and select Download.
Depending on your browser settings, choose where to save the file or find it in your default Downloads folder.
Did you create or edit your video in the Clipchamp video editor?
Exporting a Clipchamp editing project is different from downloading an existing video. If you created or edited your video in the Clipchamp video editor, select Export to create the finished video. After the video has finished exporting, it is automatically uploaded to the Exports folder in your OneDrive/SharePoint, unless you turned off this option before exporting.
