How do I view my grades and feedback in Crowdmark?

Updated on

This guide explains how to view your grades and feedback in Crowdmark after your instructor has returned your assessment. It covers where to find your graded work, what to expect in the grade return email, and what to do if you can’t access your results.

We gratefully acknowledge Ben Kinsella, Course and Educational Technology Assistant for Engineering Strategies & Practice (ESP), for sharing his helpful workflow insight and example of student email notification, which were the key resource in developing this guide.

Expand or collapse content 1. How you’ll know your grades are available
  1. Once your graded work is available, you will receive an email notification informing you that your grades are available.
  1. In the email notification, select the blue button Go to Quercus, and you’ll be taken directly to your Quercus dashboard.

Please note that the link in the email notification will not take you directly to your Crowdmark assignment. With the new Quercus-Crowdmark integration, you can now access Crowdmark through your Quercus course.

Expand or collapse content 2. How to access your graded work through Quercus

You can access your result through Quercus by following the steps below:

  1. Select the course for which your grades are available from the Quercus dashboard.
  1. Navigate to the course Modules.
  1. In Modules page, locate the module item named Crowdmark LTI and select it.

If your course instructor has not shared the Crowdmark link via course Modules, you won’t see the module item Crowdmark LTI. In this case, you can log in to Crowdmark using email sign-in method instead. For detailed steps on logging in via email, see: Log into Crowdmark with email and password

  1. Once selected, the link will direct you to a new page notifying you that the tool needs to be loaded in a new browser window. Select Load Crowdmark LTI in a new window.
  1. In the Crowdmark dashboard, select the course for which the graded work is available.
Expand or collapse content 3. Review your grades and feedback in Crowdmark
  1. Once you are in the course main page, you will be able to see the assessment with a status of “Graded” and view your score.
  1. Select the assessment name to access your graded work to view detailed feedback and the mark breakdown.

For more information on accessing your graded work in Crowdmark, see the Crowdmark guide: Accessing assignments and grades.

You can also review Crowdmark's Student Guide for additional instructions (e.g., submitting your work).

Expand or collapse content 4. Troubleshooting

4.1. What should I do if I received a notification email but cannot see the course or the result in Crowdmark?

The reason you cannot see your course or assessment is likely because you are not signing in with the same email address your instructor used to enroll you in the course. You can check which email you are currently using by selecting your profile in the top right corner of Crowdmark.

Usually, you should be signing in with your @mail.utoronto.ca email. However, if you also have another email address (e.g., @alum.utoronto.ca or @utoronto.ca), you might be unsure which email address was used for your course enrollment.

Below are some troubleshooting steps:

  1. Verify with your instructor. Make sure that the assessment or grades have actually been released and confirm the email address they used to enroll you in the course.
  1. Check the email you used in Crowdmark. In the Crowdmark dashboard, select your name in the top right corner and go to My Account to see which email you are signed in with.
  2. If you are not using the correct email address:
    • If you signed in directly via Quercus, you can add the correct email address to your Crowdmark account so that all your courses can be accessed under a single Crowdmark account.
    • If you signed in using the “Sign in with email/password” option, try signing in again with the correct email address.
