While each course and assessment will be different, there are some general guidelines that can be shared to students (in addition to your specific parameters).
1. (Over) explain how to complete the assessment
Scaffolding the final assessment is critical to reducing stress for everyone participating in the final assessment. During the term, the process for the final assessment can be introduced and tweaked, as needed. Common feedback from students after the Winter 2020 term was that more time than expected was spent on understanding the expectations of the assessment, versus completing the assessment.
